Frequently Asked Questions
With our fixed blade heads, there is no difference between the compound and crossbow versions. On our expandable heads, the main difference would be in the knock off value or the energy it takes to deploy the blades. If you are shooting a crossbow, we do recommend only shooting the crossbow version.
You can shoot a compound version of a fixed blade out of a crossbow without any issue. The expandable heads are a bit different and we recommend only shooting the crossbow version in any crossbow no matter the speed rating.
A crossbow broadhead can be shot out of a compound bow without any issues.
The speed rating for our megameat compound version would be 315 fps where the crossbow version would have a speed rating of 470 fps.
We highly recommend the T2 crossbow for any bow shooting 500+ fps. This head was developed and tested with ultra high speed crossbows and proven dependable without any blade predeployment.
While this can be a loaded question with several variants involved, for whitetail sized game we recommend no less thank 40 ft/lbs of KE. This ensures that the broadhead will open properly and provide adequate penetration for a lethal shot.
