John Eberhart is a self-taught whitetail bowhunter. He credits his success to the fact that he wasn’t mentored by relatives or friends on “old-school” hunting methods. Through trial and error, determination to succeed, and fine attention to detail – he has developed tactics and strategies that have resulted in consistent success of mature bucks in heavily pressured areas. While most hunting methods work for managed properties or ranches, those techniques don’t necessarily translate to heavily pressure areas where few bucks survive maturity. Eberhart has written numerous books, produced instructional articles and videos, and participated in podcasts covering his experience and helping guide true hunters to their dream whitetail. He currently has 31 bucks listed in Michigan record books from 19 properties in 10 counties – many of which were public land.
