Steve Ecklund gained national recognition in 1999 by winning a gold medal at the Canadian National 3-D Archery Championships. He has been featured in magazines such as Muley Crazy for his 2007 mule deer buck that netted 232 non-typical inches, and he’s most recently added a new pope and young number one record with an Alberta black bear that scored 21 14/16 inches. His hunting success includes over 20 pope and young whitetail deer, mule deer, black bear, Rocky Mountain big horn, elk, antelope and Canadian moose. He prides himself on fair chase, do-it-yourself hunts and has been fortunate to harvest some fantastic animals over the last 20 plus years.
